Bas jaan lo ki tum matlabi the.

Haan mere dost tum matlabi the,

Mai naam nahi lunga mere dost,

Par matlabi to tum bhi the.

Bewkoof nahi tha,

bas bholapan mera,mujhpe hawi tha.

Aisa nahi tha,

Ki tere manobhaon se parichit nahi tha,

Par dosti mere krodh ke aade aata tha,

Main phir bhi naam nahi lunga,

Par mere dost tum matlabi the.

Kyonki naam me kya rakha hai,

Bas jaan lo ki tum matlabi the.

बस जान लो कि  तुम मतलबी थे। 

हाँ मेरे दोस्त तुम मतलबी थे ,

मैं नाम नहीं लूँगा मेरे दोस्त ,

पर मतलबी तो तुम भी थे। 

बेवकूफ़ नहीं था ,

बस भोलापन मेरा ,मुझपे हावी था। 

ऐसा नहीं था, 

कि तेरे मनोभावों  से परिचित नहीं था ,

पर दोस्ती मेरे क्रोध के आड़े आता था ,

मैं फिर भी नाम नहीं लूँगा ,

पर मेरे दोस्त तुम मतलबी थे। 

क्योंकि नाम मे क्या रखा है ,

बस जान लो कि तुम मतलबी थे .
